I’ve been working in the advertising industry for a long time. While I love my digital life, I’ve always had a passion for the handmade, and wanted to convert my ideas into tangible objects. I managed to find laser cut machine and found the perfect way to combine my digital and craft skills. Hiding the cost of the enormous machine from my wife, I started having fun with it at my home studio in Sydney. At the beginning, I never thought it would become a business. I just wanted to make the things I love and things that I’d never seen before.

I made a few things and got many positive comments that peple began to ask where I bought them. That’s when I opened my Etsy shop and listed them to buy. I also have a passion for photography, so I even enjoyed finding cool ways to shoot my products for my store. I got excited when they started to sell faster than I could make them! Thanks to Etsy, my sales come from all over the world. It’s amazing!

I designed a few more products and started selling them at a design market in Sydney. I received wholesale inquiries and press invitations and things started to happen very fast. When museums in UK and Australia wanted to stock bRainbow, we were over the moon! Our dream came true and it was such a great feeling. We never expected bRainbow to be featured in our favorite magazines either. These were all very nice surprises for us.

It's been such a wonderful journey to meet customers who appreciate my passion, effort and craftsmanship. We've learnt that if you really love what you do and try your best, things just work out. It hasn’t always been easy for a husband and wife team to run a business and create things by hand, but it’s all been a great learning experience, and extremely rewarding. With support from our family, community (online and in real life) and our customers we want to keep pushing to create better and better products.
